2/21 • 3/28 • 4/25 • 5/23 Join us for the WC-ALL Spring Bird Walk Series as we explore the diverse habitats of Tuckahoe State Park, located on the border of Queen Anne’s and Caroline Counties. Over the course of the series, we’ll venture through fields, wetlands, and woodlands to discover and identify a wide variety of bird species. In February we will search through and learn to identify the numerous sparrow species overwintering in the recently restored meadow and wetland area. In March we will search for any late lingering waterfowl in the lake and other species using the lakeside habitat. Then in April and May we will walk the woodland trails at Adkins Arboretum and other areas of Tuckahoe State Park search for neotropical migrant songbirds. The April and May walks will be an auditory experience as much as a visual one. We’ll meet at 8:00 a.m. and bird until around 10:00 a.m. Locations will vary, and while we’ll be walking at a leisurely pace, participants should be prepared for uneven terrain and a couple of miles of walking on woodland trails. Come ready to connect with nature, learn about birdlife, and enjoy the outdoors in great company!
