Meet the Staff

Your role in a more perfect future...

The Washington Fund makes an immediate difference in the lives of our students as it helps propel the College's rise to greater eminence among our nation's liberal arts colleges.

The Washington Fund provides the College with the flexibility to meet our most pressing needs and respond to new opportunities while generating revenue to support scholarships for worthy students, faculty and staff support, and campus beautification.

Washington College welcomes gifts of all sizes from donors of all ages and means. The Washington Fund is the backbone of our fundraising efforts; it is the plan to which most alumni, parents, and friends give.

Some donors want to provide targeted support above and beyond their annual gift to The Washington Fund. We are eager to work with you to develop gift plans that can help you make a revolutionary difference in the future of the College.

Endowment and Planned Giving

  • Endowment gifts help build the College's endowment for scholarships, internships, professorships, library materials, technology, academic departments, and programs.
  • A gift annuity is a contract between the donor and the College that transfers cash, securities, or property to the college in return for regular annuity payments. It can be designated for particular purposes or general endowment.
  • Charitable remainder trusts: there are several types of trusts, generally exempt from income tax. Gifts to trusts usually qualify for a charitable deduction. Trusts can be designated for particular purposes or for general endowment and can provide regular income.
  • A bequest is a provision in a will for an amount or percentage of an estate to be left to the College.

We are happy to explore the options with you and provide the most up-to-date resources to guide you through the process. To speak to a Washington College gift planning advisor please contact Barbara Heck, Associate Vice President for Leadership Giving, at 410-778-7805.
