The 1782 Society of Washington College

Be a Revolutionary Hero

The 1782 Society is the college's premier giving recognition society, with five annual gift levels ranging from $1,500 to $25,000 or more. Its primary role is to support the College in its mission to offer a truly personalized education with the power to transform our young people into accomplished, questioning, and independent thinkers. Unrestricted gifts at The 1782 Society levels support The Washington Fund, an annual revenue source that enables the College to direct money to scholarships and other pressing priorities. Gifts to The Washington Fund provide the budgetary relief necessary to serve students who might not otherwise be able to attend Washington College. These annual scholarships remain our most pressing need within The Washington Fund along with faculty and staff support and campus beautification.

Give Generously, With No Strings Attached.

The late Al Decker, a Maryland philanthropist who left his mark at Washington College, encouraged fellow donors "not to give until it hurts, but to give until it feels good." He established the highest level of annual giving for the good of the order in 1984. Unrestricted gifts provide the College leadership with the flexibility to address our most important needs.
